This is the first training aid I've personally developed.

I spent more than a year going through different prototypes, tweaking this and that, and making sure it did exactly what it was supposed to do...

Actually, it does a good bit more than that. It's a bit of a "Swiss Army Knife" of a training aid, and I'll share the Blue Brick's other features in a moment.

But first, let's look at its main function - helping you groove a shallow downswing like the pros'.

As you may know from the 20 Minute Shallowing Fix, I spent years studying the swings of tour pros to find out the handful of things they all had in common.

After poring over reams of launch monitor data, I discovered that when hitting a 6-iron, all pros swing at or just under a 60° plane coming down. When you are using a wedge, the slightly shorter shaft makes that plane a bit steeper.

But the significantly longer shaft of the driver makes a professional swing plane at 45°. So you have three slots to match areas of your game you can work on.

It's important to know these angles.

But what I've found is, it's a whole 'nother thing to feel the proper angles.

And when you first start practicing my shallowing method, they can seem way, way off.

Put another way:

Just because you think you're swinging under the shallowing line doesn't necessarily mean you are.

Here's a quick (and true) story to illustrate its effectiveness:

I was working with a player who'd been struggling to shallow the club consistently.

I set him up with the Blue Brick and he started making practice swings, keeping his club under the shallowing line stick.

After a few swings, he shot me a cynical look.

"There's no bleepin' WAY that's the right angle," he said while shaking his head. "No way I'm supposed to be that shallow."

I assured him the angle was dead-on, precisely matching what I'd calculated from those years of studying data and video.
